“My grandparents worked in agriculture as farmworkers in the fields or workers in packing factories. My maternal grandmother no longer works in agriculture, but she sells new and used items in her home neighborhood in Tijuana, Baja California. My mom is a social worker and my dad is an architect.
My dad grew up in a small town named Pescadores near Mexicali, Baja California. My paternal grandma is from Guadalajara, Jalisco and my paternal grandpa is from Zacatecas, but they migrated North. My dad came to the United States when he was 17 years old and graduated high school in Madera, CA. My mom was raised in Sanger, CA until the age of 12 years old and then moved to Madera, CA where she completed her high school. My maternal grandpa was raised in Guanajuato and moved to Sanger as an adult. My maternal grandma was raised in el barrio de La Gloria in Tijuana, Baja California.”
